Audiovisual Installation Technician

IAS Technology is seeking an experienced installation technician to assist with our growth and expansion. If you seek great opportunity with a growing and forward thinking organization, check us out.

Job responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

  • The Audiovisual Installer will work with and provide leadership as part of a team of audio visual commercial integration installation technicians.
  • The Audiovisual Installer will be responsible for hands on installation of audio video products to business requirements/specifications and also mentoring other technicians as needed.
  • Responsible for the installation of audio video integrated systems and equipment including but not limited to: LCD flat panels, video projection systems, speakers & microphones, cabling, fiber optics, racking and mounting AV devices and control system unit loading, troubleshooting and commissioning.
  • Working with other installers installing, mounting and finishing with a variety of construction materials including wood, drywall, stone and tiles.
  • Perform field system commissioning
  • Perform service calls that include troubleshooting and repair of audiovisual systems.
  • Work with computer based software and IT networks.
Requirements:
  • 1 to 5 years of proven experience
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in technology, marketing, business or equivalent work experience.
  • Desire for quality work and financial success
  • Expert knowledge of commercial construction methods such as ceiling deck construction, wall framing and structural engineering.
  • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting (not programming) Crestron, AMX and Extron audiovisual control systems is required.
  • Hands on experience installing audiovisual equipment including flat panel displays, video walls, speakers video conferencing systems and control systems.
  • Hands on experience with racking (fabricating and mounting), pulling/crimping/terminating cables and connecting components as required by blueprints and designs.
  • Knowledge of system commissioning
  • Ability to read blueprints and install equipment to specifications required.
  • Experience in electro-mechanical audio/video component installation.
  • Exceptional presentation and negotiation skills, as well as professional verbal, written, listening capabilities
  • Independent and motivated professional who can be team-oriented and performance driven
  • Strong computer skills
  • AVIXA CTS-I certifications desired or achievable in the first 6 months.

Project Coordinator

Job responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

  • Manages Audio Visual commercial integration and installation projects such as video conferencing and telepresence for corporate, education and government customers.
  • Responsible for overall communication and completion of each project, as well as, communication and project scheduling with client.
  • Coordinates the installation with client, installation and technical personnel, and any associated subcontractors.
  • Responsible for each project from the awarding stage through final project completion.
  • Work directly with customer to establish and publish project timeline and completion date.
  • Responsible for communicating project progress/changes to customer.
  • Responsible for conducting project meetings with installation and technical staff.
  • Assist with scheduling of company installation and technical staff and any associated subcontractors.
  • Coordinate ship dates of all project related equipment.
  • Coordinate and process any project change orders.
  • Coordinate project documentation.
  • Work with administration to ensure accurate and timely billing to customer.
Requirements:
  • At least 1-2 years of recent audiovisual project management in the audio visual commercial integration industry
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in technology, marketing, business or equivalent work experience.
  • Desire for quality work and financial success
  • Knowledge and experience planning commercial construction tasks and dependencies including the deployment of video conferencing and telepresence solutions.
  • Fundamental IT/Data Network knowledge.
  • Must have knowledge creating gantt charts.
  • Project management experience including planning, scheduling, tracking and status reporting.
  • Complements project documentation with company generated CAD drawings.
  • Ability to read blueprints and install equipment to specifications required.
  • Experience with audio visual control systems such as Crestron, AMX and Extron.
  • Exceptional presentation and negotiation skills, as well as professional verbal, written, listening capabilities
  • Independent and motivated professional who can be team-oriented and performance driven
  • Strong computer skills
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work well with other people.
  • Responsible for each project from the bidding stage through the final project completion and sign.
  • Termination of cabling at the head end rack locations, programming of components, troubleshooting and testing.
  • Ability to bring projects to completion on time and on budget.
  • Training of customer or end user personnel on operation and maintenance of system.
  • AVIXA CTS-I certifications desired or achievable in the first 6 months.
  • PMP certification desired or achievable

Audiovisual System CAD Drafter

  • Drawing all products to meet the highest possible standards;
  • Completing shop drawings and submittals within the scheduled time frames;
  • Revising shop drawings according to redlines;
  • Keeping accurate logs of all submittals and approvals;
  • Assisting the project manager in the accurate record-keeping of all bulletins, requests for quotes, pending changes, and any correspondence;
  • Keeping approved shop drawings current, organized, and easily accessible
Required skills include:
  • Reading and interpreting construction plans and written specifications;
  • Familiarity with different types of finishes, hardware, and materials used within the construction industry
  • Close attention to detail and good memory
  • Highly proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office
  • Create construction and system integration documents (CAD Drawings, Blue Prints and CSI Specifications)
  • Provide sales and technical staff with high end technical support on both a pre- and post-sales basis including attending project meetings
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies that company offers.
